Can we tell which day a check-in belongs to across shifts?
Yes. The day is measured in the site's own time zone, so a night shift that runs past midnight, and a manager reviewing from another region, see the same day.
Is there a record if there is an incident or a dispute?
Every check-in, check-out and edit is written to an append-only audit trail with who did it and when. An admin can search it, and it cannot be changed after the fact.
